This group contains the most beautiful and colourful of all the Irish butterflies. The members of this group are all large, and include the Fritillary butterflies. The most common of this group are the Small Tortoiseshell , the Peacock and the migrants: Red Admiral and Painted Lady. The numbers of migrant butterflies reaching Ireland varies from year to year.
